Road Running

The club takes part in a wide variety of road races both locally and nationally from distances as short as 3k to the 32 mileIvybridge10k Dartmoor Discovery Marathon.

In particular Tavistock Athletic Club is a member of Armada Athletics Network who promote local (South Devon & East Cornwall) club road races and individuals who compete in those events amass points for the Armada Grand Prix Series.  You can find out about the local Armada Athletics Network and Grand Prix here >>>

During the winter months much of the club training is done on the roads around Tavistock (as well as using the track) and you can find more about our sessions by looking at the coaching tab.

Award Scheme

The club also runs an award scheme for runners who improve their road race times.

The idea of the awards scheme is to encourage personal improvement and participation in events.  Depending on the time achieved over one of the distances on road races, members can achieve a bronze, silver, gold or platinum award . This takes the form of a certificate and is a simple recognition from the club of it’s members improving and having fun in competition.
