2025 Results

And so it’s over for another year! Thanks to everyone for helping make this such one of our most successful relays – with 146 relays team and adding in the fun runners, we probably had 700 runners taking part! The results – prize-winners and listings for all teams – are linked here. Please note carefully the issue with chip-timing described below.

As you may have seen, we used both a ‘manual’ results system (which determined the finishing order and the team results) and a chip system, which should have provided the accurate race times. Unfortunately, at times during the event, there seems to have been a problem with some of the chip data – something we will investigate to ensure it doesn’t happen again. We lost the data from 8 of the juniors and women’s runners, but a full 45 of the male runners’ data (mostly runner A’s) was not recorded. As we knew the finishing orders, we were able to guesstimate these missing times, but there is obvious scope for error – and these guesstimates then rippled down into the B runners’ times and so on. As a result, we have created an enquiry form (below) to allow runners to respond and to submit their own race times from their own trackers. We will update the results data once we feel we have had all the responses (probably within a week). PLEASE QUOTE YOUR BIB NUMBER(S) IN ANY RESPONSES.

We’re also aware that some teams chose to make changes to their team members and/or order on the night without informing us. You can include this in your responses too.

Introduction

The annual Tavistock Town Relays is a fantastic 4 x 1.1-mile event that encourages teams from all over the South West to come together and enjoy some fun racing. We have something for everyone in this fabulous event which takes place in the glorious riverside setting of Tavistock Meadows and forms part of a series of events taking place during Carnival Week organised by the Tavistock Lions.

Teams come from athletic clubs, local businesses, local sports clubs and even just friends who want to get together as a team and race. We also stage a Fun Run over the 1.1 mile course for the younger children or those who prefer this to the main races. This costs £3 per runner, payable on the night.

Staged by Tavistock Athletic Club we are proud to announce that we continue to support local causes with part of the entry proceeds go directly to good causes nominated by the Tavistock Lions.

Rules for Entry

EVENT RESTRICTIONS: The organising Committee reserves the right to modify the number and timing of events and the races for track events to take account of the size of entry.
ENTRIES: The organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry. All information will be displayed on our website at tavistockathletics.co.uk
RESULTS: Will be available following the event.
LATE ENTRIES: There will be NO entries on the day under any circumstances.

Any age or gender changes you must let the registration team know as soon as possible (see the ‘Changes’ form above) or at the latest on the night before the race starts, otherwise you will be disqualified.

A big thank you again to all involved, without the support of many individuals and local business these events would not take place.

Just a polite reminder we are are all volunteers who have an interest in Athletics, Running and our Community. Your entry fee is not going to a big national company, after the event we will present a large cheque to the Tavistock Lions as we have done for many years and will continue to do so. The Lions will use these funds to support many local groups, the rest of the fee will pay for many costs involved in running and maintaining Tavistock Athletic Club.
